And last but not least the CAKE! My first go with Fondant and a 5 kilo mud cake! I think it came out pretty well (we did have one booked in to be made but had to cancel after the EQ and the lady who was going to be making it told me I did a great job!!!) Take note of the ears... my husband contributed these, they took just as long as the rest of the owl to make!

Felt Flower Tutorial

As part of Charlottes 1st birthday party I made these gorgeous felt flowers

So simple just cut out about 40 5cm felt circles and starting with one, fold in half then fold half in half again.. pictures make this much easier to explain! then pin into a polystyrene ball.

The ingredients

Fold your felt circle in half

Then fold half the half in half again

Stick a pin through the middle and into a polystyrene ball

Continue until your ball is covered.....

When the cake arrived on Saturday I knew it was going to be the perfect party!

Tutu

Well in a spare 5 mins last weekend I made my first tutu, the simplest craft I have ever attempted! One length of Ribbon and 20 or so 20cm wide pieces of fairy tulle (two colours works best). The tutu tulle is nicer than plain tulle, it's soft and stretchy.  Now for the difficult part - yeah right! just knot the tulle (making sure the ends are even) around the ribbon leaving enough ribbon to tie the tutu in a bow around you fairy. Thats it.
