The Quiet Book

The Quiet Book

I'd seen a few of these around on blogs and loved the idea so I thought it would be my april project. I got a lot of inspiration from Homemade by Jill and The Crafting Chicks.
Grace LOVES her book and I'll be starting on Charlottes soon - best thing is the pages will be interchangeable so they can swap them over and no one will get bored!

Page 1 Pick the apples

Dress ups and ice cream shop

The Barn with animal finger puppets and The counting page

Put the petals on the flower in numerical order and the cupcake page

Button the flowers and the castle (still to make the prince, princess and horse finger puppets)

There is still one more page - a mirror and hair to plait but I broke the mirror when binding the book :(

I am so very happy with how it turned out and Grace is over the moon with her book, it only comes out on special occasions ie when she needs to have quiet time!

I hope this gives you some inspiration to start your own quiet book and If you do please send me photos! I'd LOVE to see!!!

Candy Wrapper Tutorial

These candy wrappers are very simple to make and everyone LOVES them!!! you can adjust the size for any candy but these measurements are for mentos minis which come in a multipack in the candy isle :)

These are the dimensions I use, make a box this size in your design program then multiply to get 5 across and 4 down per A4 document and add you design placing the text in the middle.

Print and cut to template lines.
Unwrap all your little mento's and rewrap with your super cooler wrappers!
And that is all folks! ENYOY!!!

No Sew Apron Top

I searched high and low for an easy tutorial on making a Apron top... here is my own version :)
depending on the width of you fabric I have found 1mt-1.5 is sufficient.

I like to use slightly stretchy fabric and something that won't fray (otherwise you can sew up the edges but its wayyyy more fun have a top finished in under 10mins!)

Basically all you need to do is draw this pattern on to your Fabric and cut out! I adjust the curve to suit my under arm and you can cut a fatter strip for the bottom tie and make it shorter then sew together if you prefer not to have a tie at the bottom.

Also if you don't have enough fabric you can you ribbon for the top tie.

Flower Tutorial

Ok this one is sew simple even the kids can do it!!

Every thing in our house seems to be adorned in theses cute flowers :)

I even used one in the trim fabric from the skirt Tutorial to make a matching tee shirt.

First gather your Materials:

A piece of Sew Pretty Fabric
Chalk
Scissors
A circle temple... mine is a coffee Jar ;)
Needle and Thread

Step 1

Cut a circle using your circle template.

Step 2
Thread your needle and sew around the edge of the circle

Step 3
Pull the thread tight to gather

Step 4
Use your finger to push the edges out to make a pretty flower shape and stitch the opening closed in the middle of the flower.

Step 5
Add a Button and your all done :) Easy peasy
